Manchester United are set to recall defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from his loan spell at Wolves. The 19-year-old has appeared only in five games this season.
United had rejected a number of loan offers from a host of Premier League clubs as Jose Mourinho wanted the defender to get more game time. The player who can play as both left back and centre back could be a backup for Eric Bailly.
Eric Bailly injured his hamstring in the last match against Chelsea and the Portuguese is not very impressed with Marcos Rojo. Wolves had earlier promised to provide the player enough game time but seemed to have faltered on their promise.
After joining Wolves the teenage defender had said,”My aim is to play as many games as I can, get as much experience as I can with the hope to go back there and challenge for a spot in the team.
“Mourinho has told me I’ve got a future there, he sees a future for me. So that’s what I’m looking to do, gain experience and start there.
‘I’ve had interest from Premier League clubs and other Championship clubs but I wanted to come here [to Wolves] and help the club get back to where they belong, which is the Premier League.”
However, from where we are sitting, maybe PANIC at Manchester United? Maybe some hopes that Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will do what Francis Coquelin did for Arsenal when he was recalled from loan at Charlton Athletic.
