Tottenham Hotspur will clash heads with Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday night hoping to come away with a win and lift the European Cup for the first time in their history. However, Spurs are currently in uncharted waters against a team that had already experienced what it was like to play in the Champions League final last year.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation with Harry Kane leading his charge up top.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool
Defence
Hugo Lloris will lineup in between the sticks for Spurs this weekend as he looks to put in a strong display at the Spanish capital. The French keeper will be protected by the all-Belgian centre-half pair of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld as they look to put in a commanding shift for Tottenham at the back.
However, the duo will have their work cut out for them as they will be up against Liverpool’s dangerous front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah on Saturday night.
Kieran Trippier will feature in the right-back position hoping to end the season on a high note. Danny Rose has been in sparkling form for Spurs in recent weeks so he would try to continue his excellent work as the left-back this weekend.
Midfield
Both Moussa Sissoko and Victor Wanyama will look to put in a tireless shift at the centre of the park as the holding midfielders. The talented trio of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-min Son will play just ahead of them as they look to link up with each other and create chances in the Liverpool half.
Son has arguably been Pochettino’s player of the season thus far, so a lot will ride on the South-Korean’s shoulders on Saturday.
Both Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela will have to settle for a spot on Pochettino’s bench and might come on during the match if required.
Forward
Harry Kane is a significant doubt and will be in a race against time to be fit for the Champions League final. The English centre-forward will likely get the nod to start if he recovers in time for this season-defining clash.
Fernando Llorente will be available on the Spurs bench as Pochettino might use him in the second half if needed.
