According to a recent report by the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a move to bring Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks to North London during the summer transfer window. The same source has also mentioned that Spurs are looking to make an £80m offer to secure the services of the Welsh attacker along with his Bournemouth teammate, Callum Wilson ahead of the new campaign.
David Brooks’ Rapid Emergence In The Premier League
The 21-year-old came through Manchester City’s youth system before he joined the Blades to play for their Under-18 side in the summer of 2014. The Cherries decided to take a chance on him, and so far, he has not disappointed.
Brooks has emerged as a breakout star at the Vitality Stadium this season after putting in a series of eye-catching displays under Eddie Howe’s stewardship so far. Since making a switch from Sheffield United last summer, the Welsh talent has managed to improve his game and his record this term proves how much he has grown over the past season.
The Warrington born prospect has made 33 appearances for Bournemouth this term, registering seven goals while providing five assists in all competitions. His sparkling form for Howe’s team has earned him ten international caps for the Welsh national side, but he has not opened his goal-scoring account for his nation so far.

Brooks is quite energetic and is full of running at the centre of the park. He is not afraid to take on his markers and beat them off the dribble using his pace out in the wide areas. The Welsh sensation has mainly been dangerous on the counter when he has been able to link up with the likes of Joshua King, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser to cause havoc in the attacking end of the pitch.
One could argue that the Cherries youngster can perform even better with players such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura around him at the new White Hart Lane.
Thus, it makes a lot of sense for Spurs to invest in acquiring young players in this offseason. Brooks will not only bolster Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team options but will also improve their overall squad depth.
