Barcelona have already secured the La Liga title, but they should look to end their league campaign on a high as they hit the road to take on SD Eibar. The Catalan giants have romped towards the title as they are sitting 11 points clear with just one game to go.
The Blaugrana though lost their last away fixture against Celta Vigo 2-0. However, that was a drastically changed side as Barcelona were set to play Liverpool in the midweek tie. Valverde’s men got over that catastrophic week by securing a win over Getafe the last time around. Barcelona will have one eye on securing the double as they will face Valencia in the Copa Del Rey finals.
Team News
Rafinha has missed most parts of the season, and he is not going to be available again. Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho are also expected to miss out. Marc Andre Ter Stegen is also doubtful because of a knee injury. Midfielder Arthur could also miss out because of a muscular problem.
Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs SD Eibar
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Jasper Cillessen is expected to start in between the sticks in this final La Liga game of the season. He should be protected by the centre back pairing of Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti. The French defender has been overlooked in the big games this season as Lenglet was preferred, but we might see him back in action for this tie.
Jordi Alba is an ever-present candidate to start in the left-back role. His energy and drive while going forward is often the difference maker. Nelson Semedo can get the nod ahead of Sergi Roberto to start down the right-hand side of the defence.
Midfield
Sergio Busquets’ powers are waning, but he still remains an important member of this lineup. He will start in the deepest role in midfield. Arturo Vidal is expected to start in the midfield three as the Chilean is the perfect candidate to play in a box to box role. Carlos Alena might be given a start over Ivan Rakitic as the Croatian has looked out of sorts in the past one odd month.
Attack
2018 summer signing Malcom is likely to get a start down the left flank as Coutinho and Dembele are expected to miss out. Abel Ruiz might get his first full start of the season up front. Argentine magician Lionel Messi is expected to operate from the right side, but he will be in his usual free role in the attacking third.
