According to a recent report by De Telegraaf (via Liverpool Echo), PSV Eindhoven are ready to part ways with Hirving Lozano this summer and are looking to recoup £35m for the Mexican international. The same source has revealed that Everton are one of his admirers, but the Merseyside club are not the only ones looking to sign Lozano as they will face stiff competition from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in pursuit of the Eredivisie sensation during this summer transfer window.
Lozano’s Success In The Dutch Top-Flight
The Mexican wide man has enjoyed another sensational campaign for PSV after putting in numerous match-winning displays for them at the Philips Stadium during this season. Since making a high-profile switch from his boyhood club CF Pachuca, Lozano has gradually established himself as one of the most integral members of Mark van Bommel’s squad.
The Eredivisie star has featured in 40 matches for PSV this term, finding the back of the net 21 times while providing 12 assists in all competitions. He has also secured 31 international caps for Mexico while scoring eight goals for his country thus far.
The 23-year-old Was Mexico’s Hero In The 2018 FIFA World Cup
Lozano caught the eyes of the world through his majestic performances for Mexico in the FIFA World Cup held in Russia last year. He helped his team progress into the knockout stages of the competition before being knocked out by Brazil in the round of 16.
What Will The Mexican Prospect Bring To Goodison Park?
Lozano is versatile enough to play in multiple positions across the frontline. He primarily operates as a left-sided winger but is equally comfortable in filling in on the right flank or playing in the number 10 position if required. When running at top speed with the ball, the Mexican sensation can be a hard man to stop due to his blistering pace and dribbling ability. Furthermore, he has shown over the past couple of seasons that he can be a prolific goal-scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie which makes him such a highly sought-after talent this summer.
The addition of a player of Lozano’s ilk will significantly bolster Marco Silva’s attacking options at Goodison Park. If the Mexican dazzler decided to move to Merseyside, then he will arguably become Everton’s best player going forward. He is a consistent performer unlike any of Silva’s current attacking options at the club right now.
Should The Toffees Move In For Him?
The 23-year-old is a player who can help the Toffees compete for a top 6 place in the coming years. Thus, Silva should try his best to land the Eredivisie winger before the start of the new campaign.
