Everton notched up a clinical win against Burnley in their own backyard yesterday night. Richarlison’s deflected strike off Ben Mee and Seamus Coleman’s header from close range were enough to ensure the three points for the Toffees as they clinched their fourth win in the last six matches.
Silva’s men started to press from the very first minute of the match, and their aggressive tactics brought results in the 17th minute of the game as Richarlison’s long-range strike was deflected into his own net by Ben Mee. The Everton players kept pushing for another goal and got their reward in the 20th minute as Lucas Digne’s effort from outside the box was acrobatically saved by Tom Heaton, but the rebound was followed up by Séamus Coleman as he headed from close range to double the lead for Everton. Burnley tried to come back into the match in the second half, but the Everton defence proved too resilient for them.
Here is how the Everton players were rated from their win against Burnley.
Jordan Pickford: 7
Had a rather quiet night as most of the action took place on the other end of the pitch. Made some regulation saves throughout the match.
Séamus Coleman: 8
Kept probing into the opposition half with his pace and delivered excellent balls as well. Doubled the lead for his side with an opportunistic goal.
Michael Keane: 7

Kurt Zouma: 7
Showed a lot of athleticism and kept playing on the shoulders of Chris Wood. Made some crucial clearances and blocks.
Lucas Digne: 7.5
Ran into the danger area quite a few times utilising his electrifying pace to the fullest. His long-range strike was the reason behind the second goal of the match.
Morgan Schneiderlin: 6.5
Vied for the ball in the middle of the pitch. Took a few knocks in the process.
Idrissa Gueye: 7
Kept going forward with the ball and initiated many attacks. His backtracking was spot on as well.

His diligence down the left flank reflected in his pace and prowess. Kept deceiving the opposition with his classy footwork.
Gylfi Sigurðsson: 8
An excellent performance from the ace Evertonian as he initiated a number of attacks with his pinpoint passing and kept getting the ball into the box more than once. Was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet.
Richarlison: 7
Was a menace for the opposition with his fast runs and accurate shots. Opened the scoring for his side as the ball went in after taking a deflection off Mee. Was forced off the pitch with an injury in the second half.

Impressed with his work rate. However, he lacked accuracy on his shots.

Took an effort on the goal that ricocheted off the bar to the relief of Burnley.
