West Ham United notched up a 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur to spoil Spurs’ perfect record in their new stadium. Michail Antonio scored the only goal of the match in the 67th minute as Marko Arnautovic played a splendid pass from the wings to feed the winger.
Both sides looked desperate to get all three points from the match and fought well as the score at halftime ended at 0-0. However, in the second half, the Hammers had the last laugh with Antonio finding the top corner from a cannon shot after Marko Arnautovic laid it off for him. The scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle as the Hammers left the stadium with three very crucial points.
Here is how the West Ham United players were rated from their win against Tottenham Hotspur.
Lukasz Fabianski: 8
Made some crucial saves throughout the match. Kept a well-deserved clean sheet.
Ryan Fredericks: 7
Tackled the threat of Danny Rose and Ben Davies exceptionally well. Made some crucial tackles, even in the box, to keep his side away from trouble.
Issa Diop: 7
Kept playing on the shoulders of Janssen and Llorente. His physicality proved too much of an obstacle for the forwards to overcome.
Fabian Balbuena: 7
Dealt well with the threat caused by Alli. Kept a keen eye on the opposition attackers and intercepted well to break down the attacks.
Arthur Masuaku: 6
Left a lot of space for Eriksen to exploit in the first half. Did well to regain his composure in the second half though.
Declan Rice: 7.5
Did fabulously well to compete against his compatriot Eric Dier and gain possession for his side. Kept initiating attacks with his pinpoint passing from the midfield.
Mark Noble: 7
Played some brilliant balls in the danger area to open up spaces for the strikers to capitalise on. Fought well for the ball in the midfield areas.
Robert Snodgrass: 6.5
The veteran midfielder did well in his newly assigned role in the heart of the midfield alongside Noble. Looked fatigued in the second half though.
Felipe Anderson: 6
Kept getting into the channels throughout the first half. Lacked the composure in the second half though.
Michail Antonio: 8
Kept the pressure on the opposition defenders with his physicality. Scored the only goal of the match to help his team walk away with three very crucial points from a tough encounter.
Marko Arnautovic: 6.5
Dished out a good assist for Antonio to get the goal. Looked a little subdued otherwise.
