Everton will travel to Selhurst Park to clash heads with Crystal Palace on Saturday hoping to continue their stellar form in the Premier League. The Toffees do not have too much left to play for this season, so the pressure is off their shoulders. Thus, Marco Silva has managed to get the best out of them over the past few weeks.
The visiting side will lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Silva expected to name the same starting XI that featured against Manchester United last Sunday.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Crystal Palace
Defence
Jordan Pickford is expected to line up in between the sticks for the Merseyside outfit after keeping a well-deserved clean sheet against Manchester United in his last league outing. Both Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma will be deployed as the centre-backs as they look to keep things stable at the back while up against Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Toffees defenders to keep another shut-out unless they are at the top of their game.
Séamus Coleman will continue to feature as the right-back while Lucas Digne will be in a race against time to be fit to start in this match at left-back.
Marco Silva’s backline has kept five clean sheets in their past seven outings in the Premier League which makes them a tough nut to crack in the English top-flight.
Midfield
The tireless midfield duo of Idrissa Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin could be asked to play as the holding midfielders. They would be responsible for breaking down the Palace attacks and will act as a lynchpin between the defence and the front players. The talented trio of Bernard, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison will be unleashed just ahead of them as part of the Everton attack.
Bernard has enjoyed a decent run of form for the Toffees in recent weeks so he will look to put on another memorable performance versus the Eagles in front of the Selhurst faithful.
Andre Gomes is still suspended for this clash so James McCarthy might get a run-out off the bench if required.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to spearhead Marco Silva’s attack up front. Even though he has struggled to score goals, the English youngster has worked his socks off on the pitch and has shown enough positives in recent matches to merit a regular starting berth at the Merseyside club. Cenk Tosun will once again play second-fiddle and might get a chance to make an impact from the bench if needed.
