Manchester City will travel to the Turf Moor to clash heads with Burnley this weekend looking to continue their relentless march towards the Premier League title. The Citizens are enjoying a rich vein of form and made light work of their rivals, Manchester United in midweek when they claimed a comfortable 2-0 win at Old Trafford. However, Sean Dyche’s men are expected to be a more stringent test as they would try to be physically dominant in front of their home supporters.
Pep Guardiola might opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is likely to bring Leroy Sane back to his starting XI for this vital league match versus the Lancashire outfit.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Ederson will lineup in goal for the visitors after he managed to keep two successive clean sheets against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United respectively. The centre-half duo of John Stones and Aymeric Laporte are expected to start at Turf Moor as they look to keep things under control at the heart of the Man City defence.
Kyle Walker will continue as the right-back while Oleksander Zinchenko features on the other side as a left-back once again. As long as Guardiola’s defenders do not get complacent, the Citizens should have a good chance of securing another shut-out at the back.
Midfield
The Sky Blues of Manchester could lineup with a midfield three of David Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva as they look to retain possession in midfield and create some chances in the opposition half.
Both Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho are significant doubts for this clash so Phil Foden could once again get some game time off Guardiola’s bench if required.
Attack
The Citizens frontline could be comprised of Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling as the trio look to wreak havoc inside the Burnley penalty box. Sane got his name on the scoresheet against Man United which will give him a lot of confidence heading into this league game against the Clarets.
Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus may have to settle for a place on the Man City bench, but they could play some part in the contest if needed.
