According to a recent report by the Turkish news outlet Aksam (via Sports Witness), Everton forward Oumar Niasse, who is currently playing on loan at Cardiff City, reckons that he can reignite his career if he seals a move to Besiktas during the summer transfer period. The same source has also revealed that Besiktas is keeping a close eye on the Senegalese striker and could make a loan offer for his services in this off-season.
Niasse’s Recent Struggles This Season
Niasse has struggled to break into Marco Silva’s first-team in the first half of this campaign. Hence, he was shipped out of Merseyside on a loan deal in January to join Cardiff City for the remainder of the season. Since his move to the Welsh club, the Senegalese striker has still not found the back of the net for Neil Warnock’s side thus far.
Niasse’s Numbers From This Campaign Does Not Bode Well For His Long-Term Future In England
The former Hull City forward has made a total of 19 appearances for Everton and Cardiff City this season but is yet to score or assist so far which is simply not good enough for a striker who is looking to prove his worth in the Premier League. Hence, a change in scenery could help him rekindle his career away from England.
What Should Be Silva’s Play Here?
The Toffees should consider cashing in on him this summer as he has not shown enough on the pitch to justify a place in Silva’s squad. However, if they fail to find a buyer for him, then maybe Everton should think about letting him depart on loan to join Besiktas during the summer transfer window.
Niasse boasts decent pace and power up front but often lacks the cutting edge in the attacking third of the pitch. He needs to score more goals or else risk being relegated to playing in the lower divisions of Europe. At 29, the Senegalese frontman still has a few years left in him to improve his productivity and play at the highest level.
Should Everton Allow Him To Leave?
The Merseyside outfit would be better of letting him leave so that both parties can move on in search of more success in the coming years.
