Liverpool are going strong in the league as well as Europe and have been linked with an array of renowned names already ahead of the summer transfer window. But the latest report from esteemed Get French Football News (as quoted by the Mirror) claims that the Reds are interested in Paris FC centre-forward Silas Wamangituka – a little-known name in world football despite being chased by the likes of Barcelona, Fiorentina and Newcastle United as well.
The 19-year-old is making his name in Ligue 2 and playing a pivotal role in his side’s quest for promotion. Although the news surfaced a few days back, it took us a while to analyse the player’s game, traits and attributes that wooed the scouts from Europe’s high-profile leagues.
Early Career
Wamangituka started his career with Olympic Matete FC back in his homeland Kinshasa, DR Congo but eventually earned a move to Olympique Alès – a lower division French outfit where he spent a year before being roped in by the Paris-based outfit.
Form and Style Of Play
The teenager took little time settling down in the second tier and earned a regular role while spearheading Paris’ attack. So far he has netted eight times in 25 league outings and is impressing week in week out with his physicality, exquisite ball control, dribbling and finishing skills. The 6 ft 2 in centre-forward is not only causing menace in opponents’ backline but also making runs from the deep, playing his part in the build-ups and combining with his teammates high up the pitch.

Strength
As mentioned previously, Wamangituka has a strong build enabling him to dominate both physically as well as aerially inside the box. But his game is not at all one-dimensional and offers more than what a traditional ‘number 9’ does. He has high work ethics, unpredictability with his runs and movements which often make the job far more difficult for the defenders while facing the forward.
Weakness
The only thing the player needs to work on is his consistency. He would be more clinical and sharper in front of goal with time; however, he must avoid being isolated when his teammates are struggling to form attacking threats at times.
What He Would Bring In To Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp has always preferred centre-forwards who are mobile, agile and capable of adjusting to various attacking slots. Wamangituka would inject the same as Divock Origi used to offer in Klopp’s first season in charge. However, the player must keep up the hard work and have patience before earning a regular role if a deal takes place in the summer window.
