Having played a very mediocre season, Real Madrid are in for a super-busy summer transfer window. Lots of players are expected to arrive at the club, and at the same time, a few squad players should be heading towards the exit doors at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club for his second stint has got the media buzzing with several players like Eden Hazard, Marco Icardi, Paul Pogba, etc. being linked with a switch to the Spanish capital. Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez has just witnessed a trophyless season, and we are all aware of what’s going to happen next in the summer.
With a whole lot of changes being made to the squad, it is expected that the team would be completely revamped in the build-up to the 2019/20 season. Here is a short list of the players who should be moved on at the end of this season.
Gareth Bale
The Welshman joined the club for a world record fee in the 2013/14 season from Tottenham Hotspur. However, he never lived up to the expectations of the club or the local media. The Welshman has found it extremely difficult to be fit for large parts of his tenure at the club.
Bale has also not endeared himself to the Santiago Bernabeu crowd with his actions on the field. The Welshman had the chance to step up and occupy the Cristiano Ronaldo position, but we all know what happened. Bale has not even learnt Spanish despite spending nearly seven years in Spain. This is a constant barrier between his teammates and himself. It would be best for both the parties to part ways at the earliest.
Dani Ceballos
The young Spaniard has nearly completed two seasons with Los Blancos but has failed to cement a place for himself in the squad over the likes of Toni Kroos, Modric and Casemiro. With Mateo Kovacic more or less likely to make a return to Madrid from his loan spell at Chelsea, Ceballos would find it even more difficult to get game time.
It will be for the best if the ex-Real Betis man seeks a loan move away from Santiago Bernabeu. It would be a good move for Ceballos himself as he would have regular game time, which would help him in the development of his game. Probably after having a good loan stint with a club like Sevilla or Valencia, Ceballos can return to Real and pose a direct threat to the likes of Kroos and Modric.
