Celtic’s juggernaut and dominance in Scottish football is continuing even after Brendan Rodgers left the club midway through the season. The Hoops managed a comfortable win in a midweek game against league strugglers St. Mirren, and they would look to do a similar job on Livingston at home next.
The transition under Neil Lennon has been smooth, and he could be looking to try out different things given the 13 point lead they have on the top of the table.
Team News
It’s all good news across the board for the Hoops as Callum McGregor, Filip Benkovic, Olivier Ntcham, Ryan Christie and Tom Rogic are now all available. Dedryck Boyata is struggling with injury, and he might have played his last game in Celtic’s shirt. Eboue Kouassi and Daniel Arzani are long term absentees. Kieran Tierney is expected to miss out as well after he suffered an injury during the Old Firm derby.
Celtic’s Predicted Lineup Vs Livingston
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Games of this nature are often tough for Scott Bain as he remains a spectator for most parts. However, he needs to be sharp when the opposition manages to break the line once in a while. The Scotsman is expected to start in goal. Kristoffer Ajer has been an absolute beast for the Bhoys, and he should start in central defence.
We expect Filip Benkovic to start this game as Simunovic played the midweek encounter. However, Lennon might be more keen to use the defensive pair of Simunovic and Ajer as Benkovic is only on loan and he is going to leave the club in the summer.
Emilio Izaguirre should cover up for Kieran Tierney down the left. Mikael Lustig is expected to keep his place down the right.
Midfield
Scott Brown will be in his usual defensive midfield role. He is expected to be partnered by Callum McGregor who will look to dictate play and call the shots from midfield
Tom Rogic would start in this game as an attacking midfielder. Down the left, Ryan Christie could be given the go ahead of Scott Sinclair. Christie looked sharp in his cameo against St. Mirren, and he should be rewarded with a start. James Forrest is expected to start from the right, but Lennon can hand Timothy Weah another start if he wants to.
Attack
Oliver Burke has gone slightly off the boil in the last few games, and we believe Odsonne Edouard should get a chance to lead the line in this tie.
