AS Roma are ready to pounce on Gael Clichy , Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta if Manchester City do not offer a new contract to the trio.
Pep Guardiola is reportedly unhappy with his side back options and willing to buy new players in the upcoming transfer window. They have been linked with Alex Grimaldo of Benfica and Hector Bellerin of Arsenal. Pep is very keen to bolster his defence as opponents have often exposed their vulnerability.
Zabaleta’s form has declined and he is nowhere close to the player what he is used to be. Zabaleta joined City in 2008 from Espanyol and has been a regular in the starting lineup till Pep’s arrival. The Argentine is in his thirties and has passed his prime.
As Roma have been facing a problem as Mario Rui, Bruno Peres and Abdullahi Nura are all sidelined with injuries.
A contract renewal is unlikely to happen and AS Roma boss Luciano Spalletti could sign them as a free agents.
