Barring a major disaster in the last seven games, Celtic should have the title in their bag after the derby win as they have opened up a 13 point lead over Rangers. Next, they will travel to Paisley 2021 Stadium to take on St. Mirren in a midweek clash.
Neil Lennon will still have a lot to prove as he is contesting for the top job at Parkhead. The manager though gave a clear indication that he will make some changes for the upcoming clash.
He recently said (Daily Record), ”We will have to maybe freshen things up a little bit. Obviously, we will look to Izaguirre, Simunovic and Benkovic is nearly fit as well. It’s not bad strength in depth and you have the likes of Weah and Burke who will be fresh as well.”
Team News
Dedryck Boyata is likely to miss out because of the hamstring injury he suffered against Rangers. Ryan Christie continues to be a significant doubt. Eboue Kouassi and Daniel Arzani are long term absentees. Callum McGregor could be closing in on a return. Kieran Tierney also suffered an injury in the last game and could be unavailable.
Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs St. Mirren
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Scott Bain has firmly established himself as the no.1 in goal, and he is set to start in between the sticks once again. Filip Benkovic could get a start in defence now that Boyata is out. Kristoffer Ajer is likely to partner him at the back. Emilio Izaguirre is expected to fill in the left-back role. Jeremy Toljan should be fresh to play as the right back in this clash.
Midfield
Olivier Ntcham is back after his injury and fitness issues, and he is likely to continue in midfield once again. Ewan Henderson had impressed when Celtic were struggling with injuries, and he might get to start in midfield as Lennon indicated that he would look to freshen things up.
Tom Rogic played a cameo in the derby, and he should be fit enough to start this game as an attacking midfielder. Timothy Weah has got very few chances since Neil Lennon took over. However, now it could be his time to shine, and he is expected to play on the right flank. Jonny Hayes was a surprise pick in the derby, and he could start once again on the left.
Attack
Oliver Burke is expected to lead the line in this game as he should be well rested after playing no part in the weekend’s game.
