Newcastle United will travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in a late night Monday game. Arsenal got a massive result against Manchester United, and therefore, they managed sneaked into the top four. However, the Magpies would be a tough nut to crack, and they have shown their resilient side as well in the last two games against Bournemouth and Everton by securing positive results by coming back from behind.
Arsenal though would be the favourites as they have a top record against the Tyneside outfit at home and they have won their last six games against them. The Gunners have been impressive at home under Emery as they have won their last nine Premier League home games. United will look to sit back and soak up the pressure and hit the fragile Arsenal defence on the counter.
Team News
Jamaal Lascelles is still a major doubt, and he is likely to miss out. Fabian Schar is suspended for this clash. Rob Elliot and Sean Longstaff are still out injured.
Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs Arsenal
Formation (5-4-1)
Defence
Martin Dubravka is a nailed on starter in goal. Ever since Benitez has turned to a back five, the results started changing, and we expect him to stick with it even though his two main central defenders are likely to miss out.
Federico Fernandez is going to start in the middle and on his right, French defender Federico Fernandez is expected to operate. Paul Dummett who is more of a left-back is set to play as a left-sided centre back.
Matt Ritchie has been impressive down the left side of the defence, and he is set to continue in his new found role. DeAndre Yedlin is expected to start from the right.
Midfield
Jonjo Shelvey is struggling for game time, and even with the injury to Longstaff, Benitez is likely to go in with the midfield pair of Mohamed Diame and Isaac Hayden. United’s record signing Miguel Almiron has looked impressive, and he is set to operate from the left flank. Ayoze Perez is going to start on the right. However, he will look to drift in central areas and play off the striker.
Attack
Venezuelan forward Salomon Rondon has often been the difference maker for the Magpies, and he has contributed with ten goals and five assists in all competitions so far. The 29-year-old West Brom loanee is a no brainer to start up front.
