Leeds United will look to get back to winning ways as they take on Millwall this weekend after suffering a defeat against Sheffield United in the last game. Bielsa would have had a lot of time to contemplate on it as the international break came after the loss. Sometimes it is better to quickly play the next game after a crucial defeat and the manager would hope that his players are ready to respond during this crunch phase of the season.
Millwall are currently placed 20th on the table and have won just once in their last five games. However, these two sides played a feisty encounter at the Den last year, and the Whites managed a last gasp draw in the end. A draw at home would be considered a failure this time around as United have slipped to the third spot.
Team News
Kiko Casilla is set to miss out as he was shown the marching orders against the Blades in the last game. Pontus Jansson has almost miraculously recovered and is in contention to start this tie. Adam Forshaw is also close to full recovery. Kemar Roofe is likely to miss out once again.
Leeds United Predicted Lineup Vs Millwall
Formation (4-1-4-1)
Defence
Bailey Peacock Farrell is set to make a comeback in the team as Casilla is going to be suspended. The former Real Madrid goalkeeper has proven his worth and Bielsa would hope that the Northern Irish goalkeeper wouldn’t let him down at this stage of the season.
Pontus Jansson could be fit in time according to the latest reports, but if he isn’t, then Gaetano Berardi should replace him. Liam Cooper is expected to keep his place as the other centre back.
Luke Ayling has rediscovered his old form, and he is expected to start from the right side of the defence. Ezgjan Alioski’s work rate gives him an edge, and he is set to start over Barry Douglas in the left back spot.
Midfield
When Kalvin Phillips has a good game, Leeds United often play well, and that is a testament to how crucial he is in this lineup. The English midfielder is set to operate from the deepest role in midfield.
Mateusz Klich should be in his usual central midfield role. Tyler Roberts has grown into his new position, and he is expected to play as an attacking midfielder once again.
Pablo Hernandez should start from the right flank. Jack Harrison is likely to get the nod ahead of Jack Clarke on the left.
Attack
With Kemar Roofe still reeling from injury, Patrick Bamford is expected to lead the line for the Whites.
