Arsene Wenger has heaped praises on Mesut Ozil following his hat-trick against Ludogorets in the UEFA Champions League. Arsenal thrashed the Bulgarian club 6-0 with the German international scoring his first hat-trick for the club.
Since his signing from Real Madrid three years ago, Ozil gradually developed in Premier League’s one of the best midfielders. The German playmaker has already netted six goals this season whereas he managed only eight last season.
Ozil’s excellent understanding with Alexis Sanchez has been paying dividends for Arsene Wenger resulting in the 28 year old has scoring a goal once in every two games for The Gunners in this season.
There has been a rumour that Ozil could leave Arsenal as he has demanded a whopping pay rise but the player seems to be enjoying his time at the Emirates and now Wenger has heaped praises on Ozil’s knack of scoring goals.
“It looks like he has a taste to score goals, He’s getting in behind now. Before he only liked to come for the ball and provide. You want him to be a provider and a scorer and it looks like he’s slowly moving towards that better balance.”
On being asked about Santi Cazorla, who reportedly picked up a knock, the veteran answered, “He got a kick and I took him off as quickly as possible. He got a kick on the back of his Achilles tendon, In my view, he was limping a little bit so I didn’t want to take a gamble.”
