Barring any miracle, Celtic should wrap up the title as they have a 10 point lead on the top of the table over second-placed Rangers. The Gers will have to get a positive result against Celtic at Parkhead to have any hope of stopping them. Gerrard though needs to start planning for the upcoming transfer window to mount an improved challenged next season.
The gaffer recently admitted that they need to sign certain key players and players with a bit of magic. It is clear that he is indicating towards signing someone who can make a difference in the final third as Rangers have been too passive against opponents who like to sit back and defend in numbers. Gerrard’s men dominate the game, but they haven’t been able to open up defences. An attacking midfielder is likely to be on the agenda of the club.
One such player they could target is Izzy Brown of Chelsea. The playmaker has had a horrible time with injury in the past year and is currently playing for Leeds United on loan. His loan deal is set to expire, and we don’t expect the Whites to sign him again given the fact that he hasn’t played much this season.
The signing was always going to be a gamble for Leeds United as the player was still recovering from his injury which he had suffered in January 2018. Brown is yet to start a game in over a year, but now he is making it to the match days squads at Elland Road.
We expect him to be firing all cylinders in the upcoming season and Rangers should look to pull off a loan deal for him in the summer. Brown has all the abilities to be a matchwinner on his day. He is a playmaker who can play in various positions in the attacking third.
The Englishman had played a massive role in getting Huddersfield to the Premier League a few years back. It is unfortunate that injuries have halted his progress for over a year now. His pace and dribbling skills can create a lot of problem to the opposition defence and the 22-year-old likes to take on defenders. Brown can turn out to be a massive signing for the Bears, and the player himself should be hungry to prove his worth after he missed a year of football due to injury.
