Tottenham took home a hard earned point after a 0-0 stalemate against Bayer Leverkusen at BayArena. An excellent performance from Hugo Lloris saw Tottenham jump to second place a point below Monaco with the French club scoring a late equalizer to end the game against CSKA Moscow 1-1. Tottenham performed fairly well in the first half while Lloris’ heroics against dominant Leverkusen side in the second half turned out enough for Tottenham to secure a point. Below are Tottenham’s individual player ratings:
Hugo Lloris: 9/10
Had it not been for the Frenchman’s excellent performance between the stick, Tottenham would have found it really difficult to take anything home from this particular game.
Kieran Trippier: 8/10
The right-back did really well in absence of Kyle Walker who did not travel. He put in some vital tackles and blocks and also went forward well on a number of occasions.
Jan Vertonghen: 8.5/10
The Belgian center-back had a decent game as he made some important tackles and did really well with his new center-back partner Eric Dier who filled in for injured Toby Alderweireld.
Eric Dier: 7/10
Dier performed decently but was caught out of position a couple of times.
Danny Rose: 7.5/10
Rose played quite well, often dribbling his way out of trouble with Tottenham having problems in ball distribution in the absence of Toby Alderweireld.
Victor Wanyama: 7.5/10
Wanyama was excellent as he made some excellent tackles and helped Tottenham keep possession of the ball. He was often caught in advanced positions which left the centre-backs to fend for themselves on a few occasions.
Heung Min Son: 6.5/10
The South Korean did well whenever he got the ball but was kept fairly quiet in the second half as he was isolated upfront with Pochettino switching him to the role of a striker.
Christian Eriksen: 6.5/10
Eriksen had an average game but had glimpses of brilliance in his play with some excellent turns to initiate some counters.
Erik Lamela: 6/10
Erik Lamela was quite underwhelming as he lost possession quite often. He often lost the ball when under pressure in an attempt to try and do too much.
Vincent Janssen: 7.5/10
The Dutch striker played quite well with his back to the goal. He did well to keep possession in Leverkusen’s half and was unlucky to hit the crossbar with a header.
Substitutes
Moussa Dembele: 8/10
Dembele did well and Tottenham got a bit of a foothold in the game once he was introduced in the second half.
Moussa Sissoko: 7/10
Sissoko did well as he ran the full length of the pitch to offer support both offensively and defensively.
Josh Onomah: N/A
Onomah played too little to warrant a rating.
