Newcastle United showed their never say die attitude in their last match against Everton as they overturned a 2-0 deficit to win the contest by 3-2 at the end. While Ayoze Perez scored two goals for the Magpies, Salomon Rondon chipped in with one and got a significant victory for the Tyneside club to get them to the 13th position in the Premier League table.
Rafa Benitez’s side are set to take on Bournemouth in their next match in the league and would look to get all three points from that encounter as well. However, it would not be an easy task for the Magpies to get past their opponents, especially with the home support being with the Cherries for their 31st match of the season.
Team News
Newcastle United have a few injury worries to deal with ahead of the crucial clash. The likes of Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar are out with injuries and will not be available for the next match. Apart from them, long term absentees Ciaran Clark and Rob Elliot are also unavailable.
Goalkeeper
Martin Dubravka is expected to start in the goal for the Magpies once again. He has been an influential figure in the backline for his side all through this season and will surely look to keep a clean sheet against the Cherries.
Defence
The likes of Jamaal Lascelles and Florian Lejeune would start in the heart of the defence for the next match. In Schar’s absence, Javier Manquillo would be expected to start alongside the duo in the backline for the Magpies.
DeAndre Yedlin would start at the right back position against Bournemouth. Matt Ritchie, who has been a revelation at the left back position this season, would put in a shift once again at the same position.
Midfield
With no Longstaff available for the next match, Issac Hayden would start in central midfield alongside Mohamed Diame, who is back after a short stint on the sidelines due to an injury. Ayoze Perez had a brilliant match against Everton, especially in the second half as he tore apart the Toffees defence to notch up a brace. He would keep his place on the right-hand side of the midfield. Miguel Almiron would start as the left midfielder.
Attack
Salomon Rondon is expected to lead the attack for the Magpies once again. The on-loan striker has been a critical player for Rafa Benitez’s side all season and notched up his ninth goal of the campaign in the last match against Everton. He would look to add to that tally when they take on the Cherries in the next game.
Predicted Formation: 5-4-1
