A lacklustre Real Madrid side make the trip to Valladolid’s Estadio José Zorrilla on late Sunday evening kickoff on Matchday 27. Los Blancos have been struggling massively off-late. The last ten days or so have nearly called it an end to all the trophies Santiago Solari’s men were pursuing for this season.
The Whites do not have much to play for this season, having already been knocked out of UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey. They sit 12 points adrift of Barcelona in the league. Taking into account Los Blancos’ recent run of form, the game against the Pucelanos would not be a walk in the park.
Real Valladolid have not registered a single victory since January 27th. They are marginally above the drop zone, and a lot could change in 11 Matchdays.
Lots of changes are expected to the side that started last weekend in the El Clasico. There have also been a lot of injury setbacks throughout the week. The trio of Vinicius Junior, Lucas Vasquez and Dani Carvajal picked up injuries in the midweek defeat to Ajax Amsterdam. Apart from that, the availability of Marcos Llorente and Gareth Bale seems to be a doubt.
Sergio Ramos will miss the game due to suspension. Here’s how Real Madrid can line-up in the 4-2-3-1 formation on Sunday –
Defence
Thibaut Courtois is set to take charge between the sticks. The Belgian would be certainly aiming to hold onto a clean-sheet this time around. Alvaro Odriozola would slot in for the injured Carvajal.
Varane would start in the heart of Madrid’s defence and would be partnered by Jesus Vallejo or Nacho Fernandes. The left-back position would be filled in by one of Real Madrid’s best players this season, Sergi Reguillon.
Midfield
Isco who has made his return from injury could start in this away fixture for the Whites. Casemiro, who is a vital cog in this Real Madrid side would start along with Toni Kroos. Youngster, Federico Valverde might be given the nod over Kroos for this encounter.
Dani Ceballos is most likely to start in place of the out of sorts Luka Modric. Marco Asensio is set to return to the starting eleven following injuries to Vinicius Junior and Gareth Bale.
Attack
Karim Benzema is going to the be lone man up front. The French striker will really need to make things count in front of goal to get Real Madrid back to winning ways.
Predicted Line-Up
Courtois
Odriozola – Varane – Nacho/Vallejo – Reguillon
Casemiro – Ceballos
Asensio – Isco – Kroos/Valverde
