Neil Jones of Goal indicated that Liverpool would be looking to secure a Premier League loan move for their youngster Harry Wilson in the upcoming season. The report also adds that Jurgen Klopp will assess his situation in the summer as he looks to streamline his squad. Leeds United were recently linked with the winger who is currently on loan with Derby County.
Therefore it pretty much goes without saying now that the Whites need to move to the Premier League if they want to have any chance of landing him on loan. We initially assumed that Wilson would play a part in Liverpool’s first team next season, but it seems like Jurgen Klopp still feels that the Wales international needs to do more to breakthrough in the Liverpool lineup.
With the Reds willing to send him on loan in the upcoming season, this is a good piece of news for all the clubs who want to sign him, especially for the Whites as they aspire to join the Premier League by next season. Wilson has been terrific for the Rams this season as he has been their highest goal scorer and also has four assists.
There is no doubt that someone like Bielsa can bring the best out of the 19-year-old. Wilson’s major asset is his versatility to play in various positions across the final third, and that is something which should be liked by Bielsa as he has often used same players in various positions in the ongoing season at Elland Road.
The West Yorkshire outfit needs to sign a winger as well as Pablo Hernandez is already 34 and Jack Harrison’s loan spell would expire after the ongoing season. Bielsa tried to sign Daniel James of Swansea City in January but the move collapsed and the Whites are without much depth in the wide areas.
The club needs to add significant depth to their roster if they hope to survive the Premier League and Wilson can provide that x-factor in the final third. We have seen how the Argentine gaffer has been able to bring the best out of youngsters at Elland Road. Moreover, he hasn’t been afraid to throw them into action when the squad has been hit by various injuries. Wilson would develop brilliantly under someone like Bielsa and if we were Jurgen Klopp then Leeds United would be an attractive loan destination.
However, to achieve all this, the Whites need to move to the Premier League first otherwise there is no way that they would be able to sign a talented player like Wilson who could be in good demand in the summer after an impressive ongoing season with Derby County. All in all, this is potentially great news for Bielsa.
