Brendan Rodgers has now officially joined Leicester City, and Celtic fans have been left in a lurch. One always had the feeling that Rodgers would depart at some time for an English club. However, leaving the Hoops midway through the season is what is going to tarnish Rodgers’ legacy at ParkHead.
Rangers meanwhile should see this as an opportunity to run their rivals close. They are still a bit far off the pace in the Premiership as they trail by eight points. However, they can definitely stop Celtic from winning the treble. Rangers fans had a field day on Twitter after the news about Rodgers leaving Celtic for Leicester broke and here are some of the best reactions.
Some believed that it was the competition from Gerrard which made Rodgers move away from Celtic.

This has been the reaction from most of the fans around as they think that Rodgers has chickened out.
Rodgers has it easy his entire time at Celtic, the minute he sniffs a bit of competition coming his way with the re-emergence of Rangers he jumps ship. #coward

Sinclair, McGregor, Forrest, Tierney to Leicester in the summer? Definitely a good chance of happening given the way Leicester has spent in the last few transfer windows.

Steve definitely makes a strong point here. A ‘character’ like Rodgers leaving isn’t going to help the league.

Celtic are surely not going to squander an 8 point lead at this point of the season. But Rangers fans can definitely dream on the prospect of something like that happening.
Think about it: if Rangers manage to win the league this season, we ruin Rodgers and Lennon.

Maybe Rodgers is taking the bet a bit too far here.
@AdamCatterall @SamStevens71 it's obvious wats happened.. Rodgers has had a bet on Rangers to win the league..and thought sod it give my bet a chance

We all are living in 2019, but this man is living in 3019 with a thought process like that. What are the odds of something like this happening?

Some people are hailing Rodgers as a Rangers legend.

Some Liverpool fans also joined in the act on having a go at Rodgers
Gerrard went to Scotland, won Rangers their first Old Firm since 2012 and scared Brendan Rodgers out of the country. All in under a year. My Idol pic.twitter.com/GLLWNuDF3E

The consensus is that Rodgers went out at a terrible time when the Hoops were preparing themselves to win the ‘treble-treble’. Rangers fans are definitely delighted with it given the domination Rodgers had in Scotland during his tenure. However, we believe more than Gerrard’s impact; it was the lure of the Premier League which pushed Rodgers into making such a decision. At Celtic, he was almost in an auto-pilot mode on the domestic front. An impressive stint with the Foxes might next give him a gig at some of the heavyweight clubs, and you can’t blame the Northern Irish manager for being ambitious.
