Burnley pulled off a shocking result in their last match in the Premier League as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur by 2-1. They would look to replicate the result when they take on Newcastle United in their next game at St James Park.
Newcastle United also notched up a morale-boosting victory in their last match as they won against bottom-placed team Huddersfield Town. Rafa Benitez’s men are fighting for survival in the Premier League this season and would desperately want to follow up from the last game with a positive result when they take on the Clarets in their own backyard.
Team News
Burnley doesn’t have much to worry about as far as recent injuries are concerned. Long term absentees Steven Defour, Jonathan Walters and Aaron Lennon are recovering from their injuries and will not take any part in the match against the Magpies.
Goalkeeper
Tom Heaton is making his presence felt since his return to the first team for the Clarets and had a decent outing against Spurs in the last match. He would look to replicate his form in the next game against Newcastle as well.
Defence
The duo of Ben Mee and James Tarkowski were in brilliant form in the last match against Tottenham as they restricted the might of the North London club attackers by narrowing down their shooting angles. They would once again start in the heart of the backline for the next match.
Phil Bardsley was also a standout performer for the Clarets against Spurs. He would start in the right-back position in the next match as well. Charlie Taylor would put in a shift from the left back position.
Midfield
The likes of Ashley Westwood and Jack Cork would start in the middle of the pitch in the next match. They will be accompanied by Jeff Hendrick, who would start in the right side of the midfield. Young midfielder Dwight McNeil would put in a shift from the left-hand side against the Magpies.
Attack
Both Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood displayed great courage against Spurs and scored a goal apiece to pull off a memorable win for their side. Both of them are expected to lead the line for the Clarets in the next match as well as they look to replicate the result from the last game.
Predicted Lineup: 4-4-2
