Jose Mourinho could face a touchline ban after he had made some comments about the appointment of Manchester based referee Anthony Taylor prior to the Liverpool game.
Mourinho claimed that the referee might be under pressure to officiate in the match, “I think Mr. Taylor is a very good referee but I think somebody with intention is putting such a pressure on him that I feel that it will be difficult for him to have a very good performance.”
The Football Association has very strict guidelines for coaches that they can’t make any comments about the match officials before the game. If found guilty the manager can face a ban or severe monetary fine.
Mourinho has been contacted by the FA and has until Friday for a response. Mourinho earlier had been punished by FA for similar kind of reason when he was at the helm of Chelsea.
On being asked about Referee Anthony Taylor Mourinho asked United’s press officer, “Am I allowed to talk about the referee?”
