According to a recent report by TransfermarketWeb, Juventus are prepared to hire France manager Didier Deschamps to boost their chances of signing Paul Pogba from Juventus.
The same source has also revealed that the Turin giants have identified Deschamps as an ideal replacement for their current manager Massimiliano Allegri for when he eventually parts ways with the club. By doing this, they are also hoping to be a more appealing destination for Pogba.
The Red Devils have seen both the good and the bad sides of the French midfielder this season. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner was quite underwhelming in the first half of this campaign. However, after the departure of Jose Mourinho, Pogba has turned a new page in his Old Trafford career and is now looking like a world-class midfielder who cannot stop scoring or assisting goals going forward under his interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
Unless Man United fail to secure UEFA Champions League football for the next season, it is quite likely that they will retain the services of Pogba for the long-run. However, if they do end up missing out on finishing in the top 4, then the French midfielder’s head might be turned. The French talent previously rose to prominence at the Juventus Stadium so he would be confident that he can find success with his former employers.
Pogba is a complete midfielder who has a lot to offer on the pitch. He is quick, skilful, has an eye for a killer pass and more importantly, can score goals consistently when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. Hence, it is no surprise that an elite club like Juve are willing to try so hard to stand a chance of landing him in the near future.
Ed Woodward and co. cannot afford to let a player of Pogba’s quality leave their club as it would be a step backwards for the Mancunian giants as a whole. Hence, Ole Gunnar Solkjaer should try everything in his power to keep him happy at the Theatre of Dreams for the time being.
The French international is currently playing the best football of his career so unless he can find success with Man United soon; it is likely that he would want to move on, sooner rather than later, in search of more trophies. Only time will tell whether United will be able to win some silverware in the coming years. But for now, it seems like Pogba is firmly a Man United player, so the Serie A heavyweights will find it hard orchestrating a move for him next summer.
