Tottenham Hotspur will face off against Borussia Dortmund at the Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night looking to continue their recent good form under Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs have won three successive matches in the English top-flight and will come into this contest full of confidence of getting a result against the Bundesliga leaders.
Pochettino is expected to line up his team in a 4-4-2 (diamond) formation and could choose to start with Serge Aurier at right-back after he was rested against Leicester City on Sunday.
4-4-2 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Borussia Dortmund
Defence
Hugo Lloris will resume his duties in between the sticks for Pochettino’s side after his match-winning heroics against Leicester City last weekend. The French keeper is currently playing the best football of his season so he will be a hard man to beat on Wednesday night.
The defensive pair of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are expected to retain their places at the heart of the Spurs defence. Davinson Sanchez will be available on the bench and might come off the bench in the second half if needed.
Serge Aurier could get the nod to feature at right-back ahead of Kieran Trippier, who was heavily involved against the Foxes on Sunday. Danny Rose will once again operate as the left-back as he looks to link up play in the opposition half.
Midfield
Harry Winks will continue to operate as the holding midfielder while both Christian Eriksen and Moussa Sissoko play in a more creative role ahead of him at the centre of the park. Lucas Moura might get a chance to feature in the number 10 position as he looks to link up play between the midfield and the attack.
Both Oliver Skipp and Victor Wanyama will be part of Pochettino’s bench and might come on during the match if required.
Attack
Heung-min Son will continue to play alongside Fernando Llorente up top. The South Korean international has scored in each of his last three outings for Spurs in the Premier League. Hence, he will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net against Dortmund in midweek.
