Wolves are set to lock horns with Newcastle United at the Molineux, and Nuno Espirito Santo will like to take another three points from this home game. The West Midlands club is emerging as one of the top clubs outside of the top six, and they will like to consolidate their hold on the seventh spot.
However, Newcastle won’t be an easy nut to crack as they will be defensively solid and organised. Rafael Benitez has worked his magic yet again after the horror start to their Premier League campaign. The Magpies are still just two points above the relegation zone, so there is still a lot of work to do for the Tyneside outfit. The home team would be expected to have plenty of possession and Newcastle are likely to be a threat on the counter which should make this game a fascinating watch.
Team News: Ruben Vinagre missed the FA Cup tie due to a virus but he is expected to be fit for this game. Apart from that, Nuno Santo doesn’t have any injury issues.
Wolves Predicted Lineup Vs Newcastle United
Formation (3-5-2)
Defence
Portuguese international Rui Patricio has firmly established himself as the first choice option in goal. He is set to start in between the sticks once again. Nuno Santo has often opted for a back three during this campaign so we don’t see him changing from that.
Conor Coady is likely to start in the heart of the defence. Ryan Bennett is expected to occupy the right centre back spot and Willy Boly should start from the left. The trio has formed a reliable partnership at the back and they would be expected to keep the likes of Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez quiet.
Midfield
Fantasy Premier League favourite, Matt Doherty is expected to start in a wing back role down the right. On the left flank, Jonny Castro will operate in a similar role. Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho are going to play in the middle of the park, and they often bring quality on the ball. Their composure and diagonals have been fantastic, and the Portuguese duo has often been the orchestrators of Wolves’ attacks. Belgian international Leander Dendoncker is also going to occupy one of the central areas in midfield.
Attack
Diogo Jota has hit a rich vein of form of late, and he has established himself in the Wolves first eleven. Mexican international Raul Jimenez has been the driving force for his side in attack and he is set to start up front with Jota.
