Manchester City will face off against Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night looking to get another win under their belt in the Premier League. The Citizens managed to see off the challenge of Arsenal in the previous gameweek when they claimed a comfortable 3-1 victory through Sergio Aguero’s hattrick last weekend.
However, the Toffees might prove to be a sterner test as Pep Guardiola’s side would be playing away from home. That is never easy especially when both teams will be going all out for the three points in what could be inside a packed stadium at the blue half of Merseyside.
Guardiola might opt to deploy a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to bring Leroy Sane back into his starting XI.

Defence
Ederson will once again feature as Guardiola’s first-choice keeper on Wednesday night after he failed to keep a clean sheet versus the Gunners last weekend. Arijanet Muric will play second-fiddle to the Brazilian goalie as he settles for a place on the Man City bench.
The ever-dependable centre-half pair of Aymeric Laporte and John Stones would continue operating at the heart of the Citizens backline as they look to play the ball out from their own half.
Danilo will get another opportunity to impress at left-back while Kyle Walker takes his place on the other side as he operates as the right-back and looks to use his incredible pace to cause a few problems for the Toffees defence going forward.
Man City will have another fantastic opportunity to increase the pressure on the league leaders Liverpool by securing a victory against Marco Silva’s side in midweek.
Midfield
The midfield trio of Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva are expected to feature at the centre of the pitch. De Bruyne has slowly worked his way back to full fitness so he might get the nod to start ahead of IIkay Gundogan in midfield.
However, we can expect Gundogan to come off the bench and make an impact in the second half especially after his eye-catching display against Arsenal on Sunday.
Attack
Man City’s frontline would consist of Sergio Aguero leading the line on his own up top while Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane provide support from the wide areas. Sane was rested against the Gunners so he should come back into Guardiola’s lineup for this important trip to Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
The Citizens would also have the likes of Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez available on Guardiola’s bench as they hope to come on and be a game changer during the latter stages of the encounter.
