Manchester City will play hosts to Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow evening hoping to make amends after a disappointing loss at Newcastle United earlier this week. On the other hand, the Gunners come into this clash at the back of a hard-fought 2-1 win over Cardiff City on Tuesday night which should give them some confidence heading into this encounter.
Pep Guardiola is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation yet again and might choose to make some changes to his side for this home encounter this weekend.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Ederson has been Guardiola’s first-choice keeper this season so he should start in goal against the Gunners while Arijanet Muric has to settle for a spot on the City bench. The Brazilian goalie ended up conceding two goals against the Magpies on Tuesday night which should keep him motivated to earn a clean sheet this weekend.
The reliable defensive duo of Aymeric Laporte and John Stones would continue operating as the centre-halves as they look to play the ball out from the back. Fabian Delph might get an opportunity to start at left-back after Danilo’s heavy involvement in midweek. Kyle Walker will take his place on the other side as the right-back as he aims to cause a few problems for the Arsenal defence going forward.
Man City will have another excellent opportunity to close the gap with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings, so they would need to keep it tight at the back while up against two of the best strikers in English football in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Midfield
The midfield trio of Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva and David Silva are expected to start at the middle of the park. Kevin De Bruyne was heavily involved in midweek so he might find himself on Guardiola’s bench this weekend. However, we can expect the Belgian international to come on and make an impact in the second half.
Attack
Man City’s front three would be comprised of Sergio Aguero playing on his own inside the opposition penalty box while Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane provide support from the wide areas. Both wingers had an off-night against Newcastle in midweek so they would need to bounce back by scoring a few goals against the Gunners this weekend.
Both Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez should be available on the Man City bench and could come on during the match if needed.
