Liverpool will face off against Leicester City at Anfield on Wednesday night looking to continue their terrific record at home in the Premier League. The Reds managed to narrowly edge out Crystal Palace with a 4-3 scoreline in their last league encounter so we can expect another entertaining contest versus the Foxes this week.
Jurgen Klopp might opt to revert back to a 4-2-3-1 formation and would be forced to make a few changes to his side for this vital clash at Merseyside.
4-2-3-1 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
Alisson Becker will retain his place in between the sticks for the Reds after he shipped in three goals against Crystal Palace in his last outing. The Brazilian goalie has still got a stellar record in the Premier League this season as he has conceded the fewest goals and has kept the most clean sheets in the league so far.
Joel Matip should keep his place in central defence alongside Virgil Van Dijk who is a slight doubt but should recover in time for this contest. However, Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to be out of this clash so Fabinho might operate as the right-back on Wednesday night. Andrew Robertson will fill in as the left-back once again as he looks to cause a few problems for the Foxes defenders down the left flank.
The home team has enjoyed a successful campaign so far based on their outstanding defensive performances throughout this season so we can expect another solid display from the Reds defenders at Anfield in midweek.
Midfield
The pair of Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson might feature as the holding midfielders in the absence of James Milner who is suspended for this contest. They would both be looking to establish Liverpool’s dominance in midfield and create some excellent opportunities for the front players.
The attacking trio of Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will operate ahead of them as part of the Reds attack. Both Firmino and Mane found the back of the net against the Eagles, so they would be full of confidence heading into this encounter.
Adam Lallana will sit on Klopp’s bench and might come on during the clash if required.
Attack
Mohamed Salah is expected to spearhead Klopp’s attack up top. The ‘Egyptian King’ has often been unleashed as a centre-forward during this campaign so Klopp might use him in a similar role on Wednesday as the German boss looks to use his pace to stretch the Leicester backline.
Salah has gradually stepped up his game in recent weeks so he will be a significant goal-threat against the Foxes in midweek.
