Here is how the Chelsea players were rated in their win against Sheffield Wednesday.
Willy Caballero: 7
Had a quiet night in the Chelsea goal as all the action happened on the other end of the pitch.
Cesar Azpilicueta: 6
Kept getting into good positions in advanced areas but could not deliver the finished product.
Antonio Rudiger: 7
Kept a check on the Sheffield Wednesday strikers throughout the match and did not let them take attempts on the goal.
Andreas Christensen: 6
Looked ordinary in the first half but was back to his best in the second.
Marcos Alonso: 6
Ran up and down the pitch but lacked the defensive composure.
Mateo Kovacic: 7
Made a number of darting runs with the ball to open up spaces. Delivered lethal passes in the danger area as well.
Ethan Ampadu: 6
A cool and composed performance from the youngster in the middle of the pitch.
Ross Barkley: 6
Made a few good runs with the ball in the match but gave away possession cheaply on a couple of occasions.
Callum Hudson-Odoi: 8
Brilliant footwork throughout the match to deceive the opposition defenders. Completely outfoxed Morgan Fox in the box with his subtle touch to get his goal.
Willian: 8
Was in superb form on the night. Notched up two goals from two brilliantly executed shots to sink Sheffield Wednesday.
Gonzalo Higuain: 6
Looked agile on the run and made a few good moves to deceive the opposition defenders but it was by no means a dream debut for the Argentine. Was replaced by Olivier Giroud who immediately laid off the assist for Willian.
