Manchester United will take on Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon hoping to build on their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur from last weekend. However, the Seagulls won’t be any pushovers so the Red Devils might need to be at the top of their game if they are to secure all three points from this contest.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær will likely opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might name Juan Mata in his teamsheet to add more creativity up top.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton
Defence
David De Gea will line up in goal for Man United after his match-winning heroics against Spurs last weekend. He had to pull off 11 saves during his previous league outing, so the Spaniard will hope for a much easier showdown versus the Seagulls on Saturday.
The centre-back duo of Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof should keep their place at the heart of the Red Devils defence. Marcos Rojo will miss out on this clash due to injury, but Chris Smalling is nearing a return and will be in a race against time to be fit for this encounter.
Ashley Young will feature as the right-back while Luke Shaw resumes his duties on the left side of the United backline as he aims to deliver some telling crosses from the left flank. It won’t be an easy outing for the Mancunian outfit as they will face off against a solid Brighton team who are quite hard to beat under Chris Hughton.
Midfield
Solskjær might opt to stick with the same midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic who worked well together against Spurs last weekend. The Reds of Manchester are firing on all cylinders right now so their midfielders will need to contribute if they are to claim maximum points on Saturday.
Pogba has been in fine form for his team of late, so he is expected to be a major goal-threat from midfield.
Attack
The Man United front three could be comprised of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata as Solskjær looks to find the right formula to break down the Brighton defence. Rashford has been scoring goals for fun in recent weeks, but both Martial and Mata would have a point to prove so that they can nail down their first-team places for the coming weeks.
Alexis Sanchez is a major doubt for this clash but both Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku will be available on the bench and might come on during the match if required.
