Wolves are having a decent season in the Premier League after earning their promotion in the last term. They have won eight out of their 21 matches so far this season. However, things did not go according to plans in the previous game for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men as they had to face defeat against Crystal Palace in their own backyard. An even harder challenge awaits them in their next encounter when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City, on the other hand, have once again found their form which they had somewhat lost towards the end of the last year. The Citizens are yet to lose a match in the new year and were on fire against their previous two oppositions, Rotherham and Burton Albion, in the FA Cup third round and Carabao Cup semi-final first leg respectively. They steamrolled both their opponents by seven and nine goals and would look to continue the juggernaut rolling when they take on the resilient Wolves in their own backyard.
Team News
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men would be boosted by the fact that they don’t have any injury worries in their side and would be able to field a full-strength team against the reigning Premier League champions in their next match.
Goalkeeper
Rui Patricio would look to shrug off the disappointment from the last Premier League match against the Eagles as he returns in the goal for the Wolves.
Defence
The trio of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly would start in the heart of the backline for Santo’s side as they take on the might of the Manchester City attack.
Midfield
Matt Doherty would start as the wingback on the right side of the pitch while Jonny would out in a shift from the left-hand side. Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho would begin in the middle of the pitch for Wolves.
Attack
Helder Costa would start on the right as the wide attacker while Diogo Jota puts in a shift from the left. Raul Jimenez would lead the line for Wolves against Manchester City.
Predicted Formation: 3-4-3
