According to a recent report by the Express, Liverpool are hoping to secure the services of Abdülkadir Ömür from Trabzonspor in what is reported to be a £27m deal. The same report has also stated that the whole transfer will hinge on whether Adam Lallana stays at Anfield for the time being.
The Turkish teenager has already put in a string of eye-catching displays for Trabzonspor during the course of this campaign. At the tender age of 19, he has managed to feature in 17 matches for the Turkish outfit this term, scoring two goals while grabbing four assists across all competitions.
The Turkish wonderkid is also very versatile as he can play in multiple positions across the midfield. He primarily operates as a right-winger but is very capable of filling in as a central midfielder.
Ömür came through the youth ranks of Trabzonspor before finally breaking into the first-team of his boyhood club back in 2016. Now that he has managed to establish himself at the senior level, this could be a massive move for him as he would be making a switch to one of the elite teams of European football.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, it could be a wise move for Klopp to bring in a much younger player to replace Lallana who has looked like a shell of his former self in his past few outings for the Reds this season. Omur is only getting better with age so it will be an investment for the future.
Klopp has shown in the past that he can get the best out of his young talents by giving them a chance in his first-team when the time is right as evidenced by the rapid rise of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez in recent months. Ömür is quite pacey and is a good dribbler with the ball out on the wide areas. He has added some goals and assists to his game this season and is destined for a big future in European football. In such a scenario, he will be a fantastic fit for Liverpool.
Hence, Klopp should consider luring him to Anfield to replace Lallana as Ömür will be a much younger squad option who could potentially be nurtured into a world-class talent over the next few years.
