Everton advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a win over Lincoln City. The Toffees clinched a 2-1 victory over the visitors as Ademola Lookman and Bernard scored the goals for the hosts. Michael Bostwick pulled one back for Lincoln City, but it proved to be a consolation in the end.
Everton started to press from the very beginning and got the two goals early in the match. However, Lincoln City also showed some resilience later on and got one goal back. However, the Toffees did well to hold on to their one-goal lead and won the contest in their own backyard.
Here is how the Everton players were rated from their win against Lincoln City.
Jordan Pickford: 7
Had an excellent game other than the one goal that he conceded. Should be a morale booster for him after a series of dull matches in the Premier League.
Jonjoe Kenny: 6
Went up and down the pitch with good pace. Lacked a bit of composure while defending the long balls.
Yerry Mina: 7
His physical presence in the backline held the visitors back from threatening the Everton goal.
Kurt Zouma: 6
Did well to partner Mina in keeping his side out of harm’s way. Could have done better to prevent the goal from being scored.
Leighton Baines: 6
Dished out a decent performance in the left back position after he was handed a rare start this season.
Idrissa Gana Gueye: 7
Did well to intercept the opposition attacks. Passed the ball around to initiate attacks from the midfield.
Tom Davies: 5
Looked absolutely out of sorts and could not keep a check on the opposition players. Was substituted at halftime.
Ademola Lookman: 8
Brilliant composure and skilful footwork from the young Englishman were on show throughout the match as he got the better of the opposition on a number of occasions. Opened the scoring for his side with an assist from Baines.
Bernard: 7
A solid performance from the Brazilian as he made sure that he kept the pressure on the Lincoln City defence with his classy touches on the ball. Doubled the lead with a superb finish with the assist coming from Calvert-Lewin.
Gylfi Sigurdsson: 7
Another composed performance from the Iceland international as he opened up a lot of space in the danger areas with his accurate passing and ball control.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin: 5
Nothing special from the Englishman other than the assist he provided for Bernard’s goal. Was substituted at halftime.
Substitutes

Failed to make a mark on the pitch after being handed a rare opportunity by Marco Silva at halftime.

Held the midfield together and helped Gueye with Everton’s possession-based football.

Played too little to warrant a rating.
