Manchester United will play hosts to Reading in the FA Cup this weekend looking to secure a passage through to the next round of England’s oldest cup competition. The Red Devils have been in excellent form under Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s stewardship of late and are heavy favourites to win against the Royals on Saturday.
The Man United interim boss will lineup his team in a 4-3-3 formation and might be inclined to make a whole host of changes to his side for this encounter at the Theatre of Dreams.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Reading
Defence
Sergio Romero will start in goal for the Red Devils for this home clash against the Royals. The Argentine keeper has conceded three goals in three matches for United this season and has one clean sheet to his name so far. He will hope to keep a shut-out against a Reading side that has scored just one goal in their past four matches in the EFL Championship.
Matteo Darmian could lineup as a makeshift centre-back alongside Victor Lindelof in central defence. Diogo Dalot didn’t feature against the Magpies last night, so he is expected to start at right-back while Ashley Young looks to put in a shift at left-back.
Marcos Rojo is a major doubt for this contest. However, Phil Jones should be available on the bench and might come on during the match if required.
Midfield
Ole Gunnar Solskjær might opt for a strong midfield comprised of Fred, Scott McTominay and Ander Herrera so that United get the upper hand in the battle at the middle of the pitch. The Red Devils have created a lot of opportunities under Solskjær in recent weeks, so it is expected that the midfield trio will make a positive impact versus the Royals on Saturday afternoon.
Marouane Fellaini will be part of Solskjær’s bench and might feature at some point during the game.
Attack
The Red Devils could opt for the front three of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard after they impressed from the bench against Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
Both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford could be available on the bench for this important FA Cup tie at Old Trafford.
