Liverpool marked a five-star victory over Arsenal when the two sides met each other at Anfield earlier this evening. The Reds suffered an early set-back but came back into the game with two quick goals from Roberto Firmino. Sadio Mane added to their lead midway into the first half before Mohamed Salah scored the home team’s fourth goal with a powerful penalty just before half-time.
The Merseyside outfit kept up the pressure in the second half as Firmino completed his hattrick from the penalty spot to inspire Jurgen Klopp’s side to a 5-1 win over the Gunners.
The ecstatic Liverpool fans made sure that their voices were heard on Twitter with most of them full of praise about the Redmen of Merseyside and their manager.
Here are the best reactions from Twitter.
Linda Pizzuti, the wife of Liverpool owner John W. Henry, was full of positivity.
The magic continues for Liverpool this season. Undefeated and holding firm at the top of the table after 20 matches. So, so exciting. #lfc pic.twitter.com/Ze4UOUePyr

One Liverpool supporter seized the moment to take a dig at Everton and Manchester United.
Wow. Add both MUFC and EFC points together and they’d still only be 5 points to the better #LFC

Liverpool Echo correspondent, James Pearce delivered the stat of the day with his tweet.
Liverpool waited 14 months for a PL penalty at Anfield. They have now been given 3 in 4 days. #LFC

A Liverpool fan page was obviously quite worried about Arsenal and their well-being after their 5-1 capitulation at Anfield.
A photo depicting happier times for Arsenal Football Club. When on the 29th December 2018, they took a 1-0 lead against Liverpool at Anfield. The lead lasted just 3 minutes, before they got completely stuffed like the Christmas turkey, in a crushing 5-1 defeat. 😁 #LFC #LIVARS pic.twitter.com/H6ioof3YmX

Perhaps, the most simple and best tweet, which summed up the emotions of every Liverpool fan right now, came from this joyful young fan.

The Reds are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table with a ten point advantage over Manchester City, who are set to face off against Southampton tomorrow. This emphatic win will give Klopp’s side a lot of momentum going into the new year. Although most of the Liverpool supporters are enjoying the moment right now, yet they would also be aware of the threat that City possesses ahead of the two teams clashing heads at the Etihad Stadium next week.
Klopp has managed to make the loyal Liverpool fans believe again, and he could just be the man to end the 30-year wait for a league title at Anfield. However, there is still a long way to go in what promises to be an exciting second half to this Premier League campaign.
