Rangers turned up at Ibrox and left their blood, sweat, tears and everything else on the pitch to defeat Celtic 1-0. The scoreline might suggest that the game was close but the Gers absolutely hammered their opponents throughout the game. It seemed like the Gers players were playing in a league above them as they were quicker in everything whether it was pressing down the opponent or picking the right pass or tackling.
The Gers definitely missed some glorious chances, but Ryan Jack’s goal was enough to see out the much-deserved victory. Celtic didn’t help their cause as they were sloppy in possession, but credit should go to Gerrard’s men as they pushed their opponents into making mistakes and even some of Rodgers’ most experienced players looked overawed at a bouncing Ibrox in the afternoon.
Here is the best reaction from Twitter.
Andy Halliday rightfully deserves all the praises.

Before the game the following battles were said to be key in the Old Firm:
Halliday vs Forrest
Morelos vs Boyata
Goldson vs Johnston
Arfield vs BrownAll four were won by the Rangers players. pic.twitter.com/NI00ZcBM2O

We would say all the 11 v 11 battle was won by the Rangers players.
Just say how many times is the ref going to allow Morelos to kick the Celtic players. Unbelievable.

The referee really allowed the game to flow as he was very restrictive in calling out fouls and giving away yellow. But to be fair, Celtic were non-existent in the game.

Celtic fans having doubts whether they can carry on their juggernaut this season after a resurgent Rangers performance.
I am sorry, but it was our managers starting 11 and tactics lost us that game – Beaton helped them too , playing our most creative midfielder at FB was an unfunny joke, Hayes should have been in. Sitting in,allowing them all the room to play clear mistake seen in the 1st 10mins.

McGregor playing as a left-back was a definite question mark. The referee also took a bit of stick from the Celtic faithful, but we feel the officiating was similar for both the teams. Celtic didn’t help themselves by being too soft on most of the occasions.

Maybe Gerrard’s Rangers gave a blueprint to other teams as well when they face Celtic in the Premiership. The Hoops were pressed and harassed out of the park at Ibrox.

Lustig and Brown definitely seem past their prime. Time for some major changes?
Rangers man of the match today has to be scott brown

Boyata and Brown were definitely the primary culprits as they gave the ball away cheaply on many occasions.

Whoever wins the title in the end, the Old Rangers is definitely back. Last season, at the end of the year, Rangers were 11 points off Celtic. Gerrard has definitely brought progress at the club. Both teams would now look to strengthen in January, and it could very much come down to the third tie between these two as Rangers are keeping up to pace with Celtic on the top of the table.
