According to a recent report by Football.London, Red Bull Salzburg forward Munas Dabbur is on Arsenal’s radar and has sparked even more speculation after he was spotted at the Emirates Stadium wearing a red and white scarf during the Gunners’ 3-1 victory over Burnley last weekend.
The Israeli forward has lit up the Austrian Bundesliga with a number of outstanding displays up front for Salzburg this season which, according to the same report, has caught the attention of the North London giants.
Dabbur was born in Nazareth and came through the youth ranks of his boyhood club Maccabi Ahi Nazareth before making a switch to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the summer of 2010. He made a name for himself at Tel Aviv prior to his move to Grasshoppers back in 2014.
RB Salzburg decided to snap him up on a permanent deal in 2016 where he caught the eye after scoring 20 goals and grabbing six assists in 30 matches for the Austrian giants this term. The 26-year-old has also secured 11 international caps for the Israel national side and has one goal for his country.
The Israeli international is a well-rounded forward who is quite quick and can make some well-timed runs behind the opposition defence. He is also a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and is a fox inside the opposition box as he has a habit of finding the back of the net consistently as evidenced by his marvellous record in this campaign.
However, Dabbur needs to work on the physical aspects of his game if he wants to cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football. Unai Emery can use a striker of his talents from the bench to add more competition for the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up top.
Hence, it makes sense for the Gunners to make a move for his services if he can continue his excellent form at Salzburg for the remainder of this campaign. Moreover, Dabbur is currently playing at his peak, so Arsenal can benefit from acquiring his talents almost immediately if they do decide to move in for him in the near future.
