Celtic won a seven-goal thriller against Aberdeen at Pittodrie as they won 4-3 and what made the win even sweeter was the fact that Rangers dropped points against the Hibs. The Hoops are now 3 points clear at the top of the table having played a game less and they can really take home their ascendency if they are able to beat Rangers next at Ibrox.
The Hoops were themselves to be blamed for making the Aberdeen game interesting as they could have avoided giving away the first penalty. On the second one, the away side was definitely a bit unlucky. But all’s well that ends well, and Rodgers would be delighted with the three points in the bag.
Here is how Celtic fans reacted on Twitter.
Some fans really had a go at Emilio Izaguirre and rightfully so as he was woeful and subbed off at halftime.

Ridiculous challenge from Izaguirre. Should never be anywhere near this Celtic team. That’s the last 3 away goals he’s been at fault for.

Rodgers maybe heard this fan’s plea and brought on Hayes at halftime.
Why can we not turn Jonny Hayes into a left back? Izaguirre’s horrendous.

As expected, some fans had a dig at Rangers after their result.
I don’t understand how this is possible, given how much Rangers* have “improved” this year but if Celtic win on Saturday and also their game in hand, then they could be 9 points clear in the league with 1 cup already in the bag?
How did the papers miss that? 🤔#sosmurty pic.twitter.com/eWC0ZJQOEg— Chris Union Jack (@unionsharkjump) December 26, 2018

As expected, the decision didn’t go down well with the fans. The ref sure had a game to forget.
Willie Collum…Lacking even a shred of integrity. He’ll play a continuing role in this title challenge and for a referee that’s unforgivable. Hibs score!!!!!

As Edouard puts Celtic back in front, Willie Collum books himself for protesting

Odsonne Edouard- the real game changer in the second half. Had a part in all the three goals when he was on the pitch. Showed his strength on the ball and assisted two goals brilliantly. Finished with finesse for his goal.

Chipping the goalkeeper on the spin. That’s some finish from the Frenchman.

Celtic fans would be loving this meltdown in the Rangers camp. However, we think someone is taking it a bit too far, and we don’t believe that Gerrard is in danger of losing his job so soon.

It’s clear that the Hoops are back in the driving seat for the title and a win at the weekend for the away side would once again show the amount of gap between the two sides which existed. Even after a poor start to the season and a forgetful summer window, to go with Rangers bringing as many as 15 players, Celtic can be sailing towards the title by the end of the year.
