Arsenal will take on Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday evening looking to build on their recent home victory versus Burnley on Saturday. The Gunners are still well in contention to finish in the top 4, so they would hope to get another win under their belt this week as fixtures come thick and fast in the Premier League over the coming days.
Unai Emery might opt to change his usual formation to 3-4-2-1 so that he can get the best out of his available squad of players this week. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been heavily involved in Arsenal’s recent matches so he should get a rest ahead of a crucial fixture versus Liverpool which is looming on the horizon.
3-4-2-1 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton And Hove
Defence
Bernd Leno is expected to continue as Arsenal’s number one keeper on Wednesday evening despite failing to keep a clean sheet against Burnley last weekend. The Gunners could ring the changes for this clash with Emery likely to opt for a back three of Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Granit Xhaka to stop the Seagulls from scoring in midweek.
The North London outfit have a very mediocre record at the back this season after conceding 24 goals in 18 league matches so far. Emery needs to ensure a solid defensive showing if his team are to come away with maximum points from the Amex Stadium.
Midfield
The dynamic duo of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira might operate as the holding midfielders as they would look to work their socks off to ensure Arsenal’s dominance at the centre of the park.
Sead Kolasinac will look to provide some good crosses from the wide areas while Stephan Lichtsteiner would hope to do the same on the right side of the Gunners midfield.
Mesut Ozil could be part of Emery’s bench for this away encounter at Brighton as two games in three days might be a bit too much for him.
Attack
Alex Iwobi was on the bench last weekend, so he is expected to get a start alongside Aaron Ramsey in an advanced role in midfield. Alexandre Lacazette is expected to spearhead Emery’s attack up top after the Frenchman was rested against the Clarets this past weekend.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will likely start on the bench as Emery looks to keep him fresh for this weekend’s mammoth clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
