West Ham United will clash heads with Watford at the London Stadium this weekend hoping to continue their four-match winning streak in the Premier League. The Hammers are currently playing the best football of their campaign and have been scoring goals for fun up top. Manuel Pellegrini has managed to get the best out of his players but will now come up against a solid Watford side who are quite hard to beat.
It is expected that the Hammers will line up in a 4-4-2 set-up and might keep changes to a minimum for this upcoming clash against the Hornets.
4-4-2 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Watford
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will resume his goalkeeping duties for the Hammers on Saturday after he kept a clean sheet away at Fulham last weekend. The Polish shot-stopper will be protected by the centre-back duo of Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop with Angelo Ogbonna expected to start on the West Ham bench.
Pablo Zabaleta has enjoyed a remarkable run of form under Pellegrini this season so he should keep his place as the right-back. Arthur Masuaku will feature on the other side as the left-back as he looks to link up play with Felipe Anderson going forward.
The Hammers defenders will be up against a dangerous Watford side who have found a lot of joy on the offensive end of the pitch. So it will require a commanding performance from the West Ham defenders if they are to stop the threat of Troy Deeney, Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra this weekend.
Midfield
The home team will have Mark Noble and Declan Rice line up in the centre of the pitch as they aim to distribute the ball well and retain possession for West Ham in midfield. Felipe Anderson failed to grab a goal against Fulham, but he would be licking his lips at the prospect of finding the back of the net against the Hornets at the London Stadium.
Robert Snodgrass has enjoyed a fantastic run of form in recent weeks after scoring in back to back matches for West Ham, so we can expect him to be a significant threat for the East London outfit on Saturday.
Attack
Marko Arnautovic is currently out of action with a hamstring injury, so the dangerous duo of Michail Antonio and Javier Hernandez could lead the lines for the Hammers up top. Lucas Perez is a major worry for this weekend’s match against the Hornets, so Pellegrini might not have too much firepower sitting on his bench for this league encounter.
