Tottenham Hotspur endured a hard-fought win against Burnley in their 17th match of the season right at the death. Christian Eriksen was the goalscorer for Spurs, as Mauricio Pochettino’s men were able to break the deadlock in the 91st minute of the match.
Harry Kane and Co. started to put pressure on the Clarets from the word go, but they were unable to break down the stubborn Burnley defence. However, the north London club would be happy that they secured all three points from the match, which, at one point, was looking destined to end in a draw.
Hers is how the Tottenham Hotspur players were rated from their hard-fought win against Burnley.
Hugo Lloris: 6
Did not have much to do as most of the action happened at the other end of the pitch.
Kieran Trippier: 7
Clinical defensive display and delivered a number of inch-perfect crosses in the danger area.
Toby Alderweireld: 6
Did well to keep the Burnley attackers quiet with his tackles and blocks.
Ben Davies: 6
Partnered the Belgian well to help Lloris keep another crucial clean sheet.
Danny Rose: 6
Threw himself into challenges to dispossess the opposition players of the ball. Made a few darting runs with the ball as well.
Moussa Sissoko: 7
Brilliant display from the midfielder as he built the attack from the heart of the pitch. Went into challenges fearlessly as well.
Oliver Skipp: 5
Not a very impressive outing for the youngster as he gave the ball away cheaply on a number of occasions.
Erik Lamela: 6
Did well to get the ball into the box several times but lacked the finishing.
Dele Alli: 6
Delivered a number of good passes and could have put the game to rest but he let a brilliant chance go begging in the dying minutes before the goal came from Christian Eriksen. Lacked precision.
Lucas Moura: 7
His sublime skills were too much to take for the Burnley defenders as they defended against him in numbers.
Harry Kane: 7
Was not able to score a goal but provided the all-important assist for the Dane to get the only goal of the match.
Substitutes
Christian Eriksen: 7
Brilliant composure and cool-headedness from Eriksen as he got his side out of jail with the only goal of the match in the 92nd minute.
Son Heung Min: 7
Had an immediate impact on the game after he came on. Kept teasing the defenders with his shot-making and was unlucky not to find the back of the net.
Fernando Llorente: 6
His physicality and endurance kept the Burnley defenders under a significant amount of pressure in the last ten minutes of the match.
