According to a recent report by the Independent, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has once again indicated his admiration for Real Madrid with talks of a contract extension with the Pensioners currently on hold until he decides on his long-term future. In a recent interview with French radio station RMC, as mentioned by the Independent, Hazard said, “There was a bit of talk (with Chelsea), but then it stopped, now we’re waiting,”
The Belgian international also claimed that he is still undecided on his long-term future at Stamford Bridge and added, “Not yet, I’m coming in. The new (Chelsea) coach (Maurizio Sarri) thinks football like me, so we’ll see.
“The family is in London, I’m also going to be 28. I do not want to have any regrets at the end of my (career). It’s a decision I’m going to make, I do not know when, but I’ll make it.”
Hazard also revealed his love for the Galacticos and said, “Me, you know me, I’ve always loved Real, even before (Zinedine) Zidane, we’ll see what happens,”
“As I said, I’m already finishing this year with Chelsea, I still have a year of contract after this year, we’ll see.”
The Pensioners forward has already shown some flashes of his brilliance during this campaign which is one of the reasons why the West London club are currently doing so well in the Premier League.
Chelsea fans can rest easy about the fact that Hazard will probably not leave during the January transfer window. However, the Belgian is yet to decide on his long-term future at Stamford Bridge, so it could very well be that he part ways with the Pensioners next summer if he doesn’t pen a new deal with the West London club.
Time For Sarri To Part Ways With Hazard?
The departure of Hazard will undoubtedly leave a big hole in Maurizio Sarri’s squad, but the Italian manager has already shown that he can make some shrewd acquisitions if given a chance to splash the cash in the transfer market. The Chelsea boss needs to find a suitable replacement using the money generated from the potential sale of the Belgian superstar. So he should not have too many problems if Hazard seals a move away from London at the end of this campaign.
For now, it will be the best move for all parties to concentrate on matters on the pitch so that the Pensioners can secure a top 4 finish this season.
