According to a recent report by the Daily Mail, Manchester United are all set to secure the services of Noam Emeran from Amiens when the transfer window reopens in January. The same report goes on to state that the Red Devils beat Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus in the race to sign the French wonderkid, who has modelled his playing style on Manchester City speedster Leroy Sane.
The Daily Mail has also revealed that Amiens are hoping to part ways with their prized asset for an initial fee in the region of £1.8m which could rise based on add-ons and sell-on percentage.
Emeran was born in Paray-le-Monial, France and began his football journey at FC Brussels in Belgium. He went on to play for the French club, Entente SSG before sealing a move to Amiens. The French starlet is currently an integral member of the Ligue 1 club’s Under-19 team but is yet to make a first-team appearance under Christophe Pélissier this season.
The 16-year-old has also featured in two international matches for his country at the Under-16 level and can be considered as one of the most promising young players in France.
Manchester United are currently occupying the 6th spot in the Premier League standings with a tally of 26 points in 16 matches so far. There is a real concern that Jose Mourinho’s side will miss out on a top 4 finish this season so the Portuguese manager has a big rebuilding job on his hands at Old Trafford in the coming years (should he survive ‘the sack race’).
The potential signing of Emeran will be an investment for the future. The Red Devils would be acquiring a raw talent who could be nurtured into a prolific striker if given a nurturing environment to develop his game. The English heavyweights have a history of promoting young talents so Emeran will fit in well at the red half of Manchester if the deal goes through in January.
However, Mourinho needs to be patient with him as he is clearly not ready for first-team football right now. The French forward will be a signing for the future and the world-renowned Manchester United academy could be a perfect new home for the Amiens youngster.
