Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has admitted that he is still trying to adapt under manager Jose Mourinho.
United signed Pogba from Juventus for a world record fee of £89m. Mourinho has been playing with his favourite 4-2-3-1 formation and deployed the French man in the holding midfield role. Pogba showed his glimpse of form against defending champions Leicester City and also scored his first goal against them.
The 23 year old scored a scorcher against Holland in a World Cup Qualifier match where he has occupied a much forward role. Despite having required to operate from the midfield he loves to surge forward.
Pogba recently revealed that he strictly follows the instruction of his gaffer. He said, “I try to adapt. I am a player who would rather go forward. The coach gave me instructions, I try to follow them.”
“I have to retrieve balls and make defensive efforts. It cost me a bit to play differently, much like Pirlo. I have to play, be there to recover and play more for the team.”
