Chelsea bounced back from their defeat against Tottenham Hotspur as they went onto win their encounter against Fulham in the West London derby. Pedro opened the scoring for the Blues in the 4th minute with a brilliant finish past Sergio Rico. Ruben Loftus-Cheek made his claim of getting into the first team even stronger with a goal in the 82nd minute to put the match beyond the grip of the visitors.
The Lilywhites were under pressure from the word go as the Pensioners threw waves of attack on their defence and notched up an early goal as well. Chelsea, however, could have gone up by at least two more goals in the first half itself but their players wasted a number of chances in both halves until Loftus-Cheek decisively won the match for them.
Here is how the Chelsea players were rated from their win against Fulham.
Kepa Arrizabalaga: 6
Had a rather quiet outing with most of the action happening on the other end of the pitch.
Cesar Azpilicueta: 7
Brilliant on the ball as he went forward. Looked solid while defending as well.
Antonio Rudiger: 7
Kept breathing on the shoulders of the Fulham attackers as he held them at bay.
David Luiz: 7
Partnered Rudiger perfectly to keep his side out of harm’s way.
Marcos Alonso: 6
Looked to go up with the ball on multiple occasions but lacked impact.
N’Golo Kante: 8
Another confident display from the Frenchman as he made a number of blocks and interceptions and also kept delivering the ball into the path of the forwards.
Jorginho: 7
Solid performance from the Italian as he showed brilliant ball control in the midfield.
Mateo Kovacic: 7
Intercepted and passed the ball into the danger area. Made a number of good runs in the forward areas as well.
Eden Hazard: 8
Was a constant threat for the Fulham defenders with his nimble footwork and continuous shot-making. Unlucky to not get his name on the scoresheet.
Pedro: 7
Opened the scoring for his side and kept the energetic performance intact throughout the match.
Olivier Giroud: 6
Kept the pressure on the opposition defenders but looked far from threatening. Was wasteful on a number of occasions.
Substitutes
Ruben Loftus Cheek: 7
Another confident performance from the Englishman as he put forward a strong claim to be included in the starting XI. Scored the goal to seal the win for his side.
Alvaro Morata: 5
Nothing special from the Spaniard as he came on as a substitute for Giroud.
Davide Zappacosta: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
