According to a recent report by talkSPORT, Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke will not move to Rangers on a loan deal when the transfer window reopens in January. The Glaswegian giants were earlier linked with a loan switch for the Reds youngster following a run of impressive displays by him for the England Under-21 side during the international break. However, a source close to the Merseyside club has now claimed that the English starlet won’t be joining the Gers in January.

Solanke’s Recent Struggles At Anfield
Solanke was a sporadic presence for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season, but the youngster was not able to score goals consistently which saw him fall down the Anfield pecking order. The likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi are all in contention to be selected ahead of him at Merseyside which is why he should leave the club on a loan deal during the winter transfer period.
The fact that the 21-year-old has not featured in a single match for Liverpool this term could have a detrimental impact on his career in the long-run. There is no doubt that he needs to get more game time if he wants to fulfil his true potential by taking his game to the next level.
What Should The English Forward Do To Turn His Anfield Career Around?
Solanke is an all-around centre-forward who has been a prolific goal-getter for England at every youth level from Under-16 onwards. However, the Basingstoke born wonderkid has not been able to prove his value in the top tier of England. He is currently a sporadic option for Klopp and needs to leave on a temporary basis in search of more game time.
At the tender age of 21, the former Chelsea prospect requires more minutes on the pitch if he wants to establish himself as a regular starter at the red half of Merseyside someday. For now, the England Under-21 international should concentrate on improving his game so going out on loan in January could help him develop into a top-class player in his position.
What Should Be Klopp’s Play Here?
With Rangers out of the running, Klopp will now need to decide on Solanke ‘s future soon. The German boss has to select an ideal loan destination for him as Solanke could still have a future at Anfield if he can have a productive loan spell away from Merseyside for the remainder of this campaign.
